Love my Cosmos Laser 4K. It quite bright and detailed. No need to buy a smart TV. This checks all the boxes, plus the use case are many, since I will also use it to project art to create murals. Hands down the best purchase I’ve made to date. My only concern is what is the aftermarket support for Nebula devices, repairs etc.

I backed the Nebula Cosmos 4K laser projector on Kickstarter. It’s a great product with sturdy construction. The picture is sharp and clear. Sound is OK. Portability is great and access to the GoogleTV App Store is awesome. That said, here are some of my pros and cons.

Pros:
- Bright, clear picture!
- Build materials and craftsmanship are indicative of a premium product.
- With built-in speakers, portability is awesome. All you need is a power source and flat surface and you have a theater.
- Auto keystone and auto focus make setting up a breeze. Manual controls let’s you fine tune if needed.

Cons:
- I would love to have seen additional I/O included. USB-C and Toslink (optical audio) would have been nice as well as a second HDMI for more permanent installations.
- The dongle connects via micro USB. This should have been USB-C.
- Mounting to a tripod with the single screw means the projector has a lot of mass applying pressure to a small location. In my opinion, an ARCA mounting system should have been used.

Been using it for about 10 days now. I'm a 3rd time Nebula owner. Started with the Capsule, then upgraded to the Capsule Max, now an owner of the Cosmos Laser 4K. Nebula does a great job with customer service when you run into issues, and the products are well made. We use projectors to stream on our roof deck all summer and fall long, so we put on about 400-500 hours a year. With the Capsule products, you had to wait until dark to get a good image, and dark images (Stranger Things, for example) were always tough to see even well after sunset. Not so with the Cosmos Laser 4K. We can start watching about an hour before sunset (which is ideal for kids movie night), and the imagery is crisp and clear. Can you use this in broad daylight? No. Dusk? Yes. Dark? Absolutely.

The AndroidTV is also an excellent upgrade to the operating system. (Only major app the google play store is missing is the Xfinity Beta. All the other major ones are there). I've always used a Roku stick in the past, which is still an option. But, now, I can simply put the projector on the table, plug it in, and go with the onboard apps. Setup is less than 20 seconds. We connect a bluetooth speaker (it's not intuitive to figure out how - go to "Remotes and Accessories", then add), which is ideal for our setup. The speakers onboard are good, but we strongly prefer adding our own speaker. You can also add your bluetooth headphones if you're in a shared outdoor space, like a common roof or backyard.

Definitely follow the guidance in the other reviews about updating the firmware and software of the onboard streamer before starting to fiddle around. Have a good wifi connection when doing so, or it will consume your first night after the unboxing. Also update your remote. Mine updated pretty easily after updating the other components. I do wish there was an option to backlight the remote. You can use the Nebula app in the dark, which does work well. But I like the tactile ease of the remote, and the one feature that would be nice is backlighting.

Ports are one HDMI, one USB. also an Audio Out Headphone jack. You can power your low voltage items (Ex: Streaming stick) via that USB, so that's a nice feature if you prefer to use your stick as you can leave it plugged in and not have to worry about powering it separately.

For us, the investment is worth it, because it gets heavy use. If this were a novelty use, the Capsule would be good enough. But because it's a 150+ night item at our house, we really value the performance here.

We got this to use for outdoor movies in the evening.
We are really focusing on family and togetherness.
We thought this was another fun activity for us, but my husband really wanted something that had a high quality image output.

It arrives ready to hook up.
It was very well packed and had great directions that are very easy to use and understand.
You just have to attach the provided streaming dongle and it is ready to use.

It is very solid.
The housing is sturdy.
The base is designed so that it should never tip over.
There are multiple ports to hook it up to media sources.
It has HDMI, USB, USB-C, Bluetooth, PC, Mirroring for Apple, and it can be cast to by Android.
This is so universal that we can not think of anything they could or should have added.
It has 10W speakers and the sound quality is on par with our high end sound bar system.

It has a threaded hole on the base to attach to a tripod but we just used it on a table.
To test it out we hooked it up to an iPad and mirrored it to watch apple TV on the wall.
We adjusted it on purpose so that it was projecting onto a corner with part of the image distorted.
It self adjusted on its own and moved the image over to a perfectly symmetrical picture (without us moving the machine).
Next we used an HDMI cable to connect an MSI gaming laptop.
We played a fairly intensive graphical game and the image was amazing.
The picture quality on such a large scale was so intensive and made it really fun to play and watch.
The remote control was glitchy when we first used it.
Once we updated the firmware it was fine.

We would buy this again.

My first projector so have little to compare to but watching beautiful, bright 4k images on a bezel less 110inch screen is incredible. I got this on kickstarter and am very happy with it. However, since it is a new product there are still some software issues, mainly with the remote, that need to be resolved. Eg. I set the remote to control the volume on the unit but it always seems to switch to the soundbar. A little annoying but not enough to not recommend this. At full price though, it is a lot of money for the privilege.
