I impulsively ordered this when I thought my brand new and very expensive LG smart tv would not do chrome cast. Well it does accept chrome cast and more. This device will turn your old dumb flat screen into a smart tv. It was redundant plugging it into the LG because basically it duplicates the basic experience which is pretty damn good with either device. Everything sets up nicely and it works and it looks good doing it. I was able to set it up with my google account from the very start. The experience is good but the only frustrating thing is the ads on yutube which are extremely intrusive and causes interruption to the media playing such as plunging into a 15 minute infomertial while I am listening to any audio/video and especially the long ones that I like to play while doing chores around the house. It does it with the LG too so my method to combat this is to cast youtube from a browser on my laptop while using an adblocker extension. This cuts it back to tolerable and even eliminates a lot of ads. So I'm sending it back because it did not make me "happy" and I was not going to use it. I'm striking one star for the miserable ad experience that has ruined using android for the most part.
